Patrick J. Adams Wants a Suits Revival — and His Pitch Includes Meghan Markle’s Character: ‘Get the Band Back Together’

Nearly seven years after the sharp-tongued attorneys of Pearson Hardman walked off the screen, the itch to put back on the skinny ties is getting stronger.

Patrick J. Adams, who spent nearly a decade playing the brilliant, fraudulent-turned-legitimate lawyer Mike Ross, took to his Instagram Stories on Friday, July 3, to lay out a comprehensive, fiercely creative pitch for a Suits revival. His narrative vision not only tackles the modern digital age but boldly brings Meghan Markle’s character, Rachel Zane, right back into the center of the action.

“Mike and Rachel are working on a class action suit against a giant AI company,” Adams, 44, began, instantly modernizing the show’s classic legal chess match. But it wouldn’t be a Suits episode without a high-stakes threat to the old guard. In Adams’ vision, this new case triggers a domino effect: “Suddenly the years of past indiscretions and illegal maneuvering at Pearson Hardman are threatened to be revealed.”

From there, the actor spun a web of dramatic stakes for every major player in the original lineup.

“Harvey [Specter] and Donna’s [Paulsen] life could be over before it’s really started. Jessica’s [Pearson] political career could be cut off at the knees. Louis [Litt] could lose the very thing he has worked so long for… the firm,” Adams continued, perfectly capturing the high-wire tension that kept audiences glued to the USA Network for nine seasons.

‘Getting the Band Back Together’

The narrative engine of the pitch relies on a classic Suits trope: Mike Ross trying to save the world, only to inadvertently drag his chosen family into the line of fire.

“Once again Mike’s wanting to do good has dragged this team back together with one chance to truly wipe the slate clean and buy them all a future that they can be proud of,” Adams wrote.

Showing his deep affection for the show’s signature style, the father of three joked about seasoning the revival with “some skinny tie jokes and some classic bike riding montages.” He even mapped out character arcs, suggesting they give Harvey and Donna a baby before launching regional spinoffs in different cities to track the main characters’ futures.

“Sort of writes itself,” Adams concluded. “Let’s go. I’m ready.”

Reading the Room (and the Network)

Despite his detailed blueprint, Adams was quick to ground his followers in reality. In a follow-up post, The Madison actor clarified that he doesn’t possess any inside information about an active project.

“As far as I can tell, the powers that be walked away after Suits: LA,” he admitted, referencing the NBC spinoff starring Stephen Amell that was canceled in May 2025 after a single-season run.

Still, Adams remains bewildered that the franchise has been left dormant. “But seems strange not to try and get the band back together,” he noted. “The world is a corrupt cesspool and it would be fun to watch the team try and do the right thing in a world determined to do all the wrong things. Anyway. I’m available.”

The Unstoppable Streaming Renaissance

The desire for more Suits isn’t just nostalgia talking; it’s backed by staggering data. While the original series wrapped its run in 2019, it experienced a historic cultural renaissance when it debuted on Netflix in the summer of 2023.

A whole new generation of viewers fell in love with the fast-talking dynamic between Mike and his mentor Harvey, Jessica’s commanding leadership, Louis’s volatile brilliance, Donna’s omniscience, and Rachel’s fierce ambition as a paralegal rising through the ranks.

That summer, Nielsen reported that the legal drama set a massive streaming record, tracking over 3 billion viewing minutes between Peacock and Netflix in a single week. It became the most-viewed acquired streaming title in history, proving the show’s formula possesses a rare longevity.

Is a Feature Film Next?

This isn’t the first time Adams has advocated for a reunion. During a panel at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas, alongside former castmates Sarah Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Abigail Spencer, and Amanda Schull, Adams openly discussed the potential of transitioning the series to the silver screen.

When an audience member pointed out that the USA Network frequently created cinematic extensions of its hit shows, Adams agreed that a Suits movie is entirely within the realm of reality.

“It’s definitely something he’s interested in doing, in trying to get the band back together,” Adams said at the time, referring to series creator Aaron Korsh. “It’s gonna depend on a million things if that can happen… But is it possible? I think it is possible.”

Whether it’s a feature film or a limited series taking on the ethics of Artificial Intelligence, one thing is certain: the frontman is ready to play, and the music sheet is already written.
